Tecno Pova Slim 5G Review: The Tecno Pova Slim 5G isn’t just another mid-range phone with standard features. I’ve been using it for nearly two-three weeks, and it immediately stands out the moment you pick it up. It is one of the slimmest phone in the world. Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, the slimmest phone in India at just 5.85mm and 156g. Apple followed with the iPhone Air, its thinnest iPhone yet at only 5.6mm. Now, Tecno came with the slim-phone trend to a wider audience with the more affordable Pova Slim. Holding it almost feels like holding a credit card—except this one is a complete smartphone. The phone was launched in September 2025, the Tecno Pova Slim 5G is priced at around Rs 19,999 in India. It is designed for users who care more about portability and style than raw power. But the big question remains—can it really stand out in such a crowded smartphone market? Let’s find out. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Design And Build Quality The company has nailed the slim factor here, making the Pova Slim 5G remarkably pocket-friendly and lightweight compared to bulkier rivals. Measuring 164.2 x 75.9 x 6mm, it features a glass front with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, a fiberglass back, and comes in eye-catching colors like Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black. The back panel easily catches fingerprints, which might bother some users. However, it makes up for it with useful features like IP64 dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810H durability A standout feature is the Dynamic Mood Light LED on the back, which changes to show battery status—smiling when the charge is high and frowning when it’s low. Even though the phone is very thin, it feels solid and doesn’t bend easily, even in a back pocket. It looks stylish, but the plastic frame reminds you it’s still a mid-range phone. Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Display The smartphone comes with a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen is a highlight, boasting a 1.5K resolution (1224 x 2720 pixels) and a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. With up to 4500 nits peak brightness and 1600 nits in high-brightness mode, it’s excellent for outdoor visibility, and colors pop vividly. The 240Hz touch sampling rate ensures responsive inputs, making it great for casual swipes or intense sessions. However, the 144Hz refresh rate doesn’t always feel consistent—some animations can appear choppy. Still, at ~440 ppi density and an 89.1% screen-to-body ratio, it’s a strong performer for media consumption and multitasking in this price bracket. Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Performance and Software The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset (6nm process) with an octa-core CPU (2×2.5GHz Cortex-A76 and 6×2.0GHz Cortex-A55) and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, the Pova Slim 5G handles daily tasks efficiently. It comes with 8GB RAM (expandable to 16GB virtually) and 128GB or 256GB storage, but there’s no microSD slot. Apps launch quickly, multitasking is smooth, and 5G support enables fast downloads and streaming. For gaming, it’s decent with lighter titles but struggles with demanding shooters, where frame drops occur. Heat management is solid thanks to a vapor cooling chamber, preventing throttling during extended use. It runs Android 15 with HIOS 15 skin, including the Ella AI assistant. Software support is a weak spot, though—only two years of OS updates, lagging behind competitors offering up to five. Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Battery Life The most impressive part is the battery. Despite being slim, the phone packs a 5160mAh battery that lasts all day and sometimes into the next morning. It fully charges in about 57 minutes with 45W fast charging. Meanwhile, users also get reverse charging to power other devices and bypass charging for better efficiency. For such a slim phone, the battery performance really stands out. (Also Read: Viral Video: Man Goes To Vijay Sales To Buy Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Worth Rs 1.29 Lakhs; Finds Tile Inside During Unboxing) Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Camera The rear setup includes a 50MP wide sensor with PDAF and a 2MP depth lens, paired with an LED flash. Daylight shots are sharp, detailed, and colour-accurate, aided by AI scene optimization. Video recording tops out at 1440p@30fps. The 13MP front camera delivers good selfies with solid dynamic range. Low-light performance is average—night mode helps, but noise creeps in, and it’s not flagship-level. For casual users, it’s versatile enough for social media, landscapes, and portraits, but don’t expect pro-grade results. Tecno Pova Slim 5G: Additional Features Audio shines with dual speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR port, FM radio, and GPS. An under-display optical fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass round out the package. It’s practical for everyday needs. It’s a good choice for style-conscious users who want portability on a budget. If gaming and cameras aren’t your top priority, this phone is worth considering. But if you want more power and long-term software support, other options may suit you better.
Samsung Group Union Coalition To Demand Reform Of Bonus System | Technology News
Seoul: A coalition of unions from 13 Samsung Group affiliates was set to call for reforms in the group’s performance-based bonus system on Tuesday, following a recent change in the system of local rival SK hynix, that is expected to sharply boost its bonus payments. The alliance said it will demand greater transparency in the calculation of bonuses in a press conference set to be held in front of Samsung Electronic Co.’s Seoul headquarters, pointing to that of SK hynix as a model example, reports Yonhap news agency. Earlier this year, SK hynix’s management and union agreed to remove the ceiling on profit-sharing payouts and set bonus payments at 10 percent of operating profits. Samsung Group currently uses the excess profit incentive (OPI) system, which calculates bonuses by deducting certain costs, such as taxes and investment spending, from the operating profit. Under such a system, even when profits are high, the final bonus payout may end up being relatively small. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source “Representing 300,000 Samsung workers, we decided to hold the press conference to urge Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Samsung Group to adopt a transparent bonus system similar to that of SK hynix,” the alliance said in a statement. Earlier this month, unionised workers of Samsung Electronics sent a letter to Chairman Lee Jae-yong, demanding the company improve the transparency of its bonus system. In a document sent to the de facto head of Samsung Group, workers demanded the adoption of a more transparent bonus evaluation system and the abolition of the current framework based on economic value added (EVA). “While SK hynix recently decided to allocate 10 percent of its annual operating profit to its bonus program, Samsung Electronics is still using the EVA method, which lacks transparency,” the union said, according to the report.
What Happens To Physical SIM After eSIM Activation; Heres How BSNL, Airtel, Vi, Jio Users Can Activate
Online eSIM Activation In India: BSNL has joined private telecom companies like Airtel, Jio, and Vi by offering eSIM services in some areas. An eSIM works like a regular SIM card but gives better network connectivity on devices like iPhones, Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy S series. In India, more people are switching from physical SIM cards to eSIMs, and major providers—Airtel, Jio, Vi, and BSNL are now offering this service in select regions. eSIM Benefits Unlike traditional physical SIM cards, eSIMs are built into devices, so they cannot wear out, get lost, or be physically damaged. They allow users to store multiple mobile numbers on a single device, making it easier to manage personal and work contacts without using several SIM cards. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source Adding further, the eSIMs also make it simple to switch networks, as new plans can be activated digitally. However, users need to be careful because deleting an eSIM by mistake will immediately disconnect the network. It is important to handle eSIM settings carefully to avoid losing connectivity. How To Apply For An eSIM With BSNL, Airtel, Vi And Jio The process to request an eSIM differs slightly depending on your service provider. For Jio users, you can request an eSIM either through the MyJio app or by visiting the nearest Jio store. Airtel and Vi users can apply using their respective official apps, or alternatively, by sending an SMS to 121 or 199 (depending on your carrier) with the text “eSIM.” (Also Read: BSNL Rolls Out Low-Cost Plan Offering 330 Days of Validity With Unlimited Calling And 495 GB Data; Check Other Affordable Prepaid Plans) BSNL users, however, need to visit the nearest customer service center to apply and complete the KYC process, which requires presenting your Aadhaar card. How To Activate Your eSIM Step 1: Ensure your eSIM request has been successfully submitted through your carrier. Step 2: Check your registered email to receive the eSIM QR code from your service provider. Step 3: On your phone, go to Settings and navigate to Mobile Networks, Cellular, or SIM Services. Step 4: Select the option Add eSIM or Download eSIM to start the activation process. Step 5: Choose Use QR Code and scan the QR code received via email. Step 6: Complete the process by responding to the IVR call from your carrier to confirm and activate your eSIM. What Happens After eSIM Activation It is important to note that once your eSIM is successfully activated, your physical SIM will be automatically deactivated, and all network services will transfer to the eSIM. In accordance with TRAI regulations, SMS services will be temporarily unavailable for the first 24 hours to prevent SIM-swap fraud. This measure safeguards your mobile number and personal information.

Zoho Arattai: India’s ‘Swadeshi’ Chat App Tops App Stores—Can It Really Challenge WhatsApp? Check Features | Technology News
India’s ‘Swadeshi’ App: India’s homegrown messaging app Arattai has overtaken global rivals to secure the top spot on app stores, surpassing WhatsApp. Developed by Chennai-based Zoho, the platform brands itself as a “spyware-free, made-in-India” messenger, resonating strongly with Indian users. Originally launched in 2021 as an experimental project and positioned as an alternative to WhatsApp, Arattai—derived from the Tamil word meaning “chat” or “chit-chat”—has now evolved into a mainstream contender. The milestone follows a week of rising buzz powered by endorsements, memes, and a surge of patriotic downloads. Its sudden spike in popularity also gained momentum after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged citizens to adopt local digital platforms, highlighting Arattai as a leading example. Adding further, he described it as a genuine Swadeshi alternative that aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting homegrown technology. Zoho’s Instant Messaging App Arattai: Features Add Zee News as a Preferred Source Arattai offers one-to-one and group chats with text, voice notes, and media sharing, along with audio and video calls backed by Zoho’s promise of end-to-end encryption. The app also supports multiple devices, including desktop and even Android TV, making it more versatile. Adding further, users can share updates through stories or follow creators via dedicated channels, giving the platform a social touch beyond regular messaging. Zoho’s Instant Messaging App Arattai: How It Differs from WhatsApp Arattai stands out from other messaging apps, including WhatsApp, due to Zoho’s clear focus on privacy. While many global rivals face accusations of using personal data for advertising, Zoho says Arattai does not monetize user information and remains fully committed to keeping it private. At a time when concerns about digital security and surveillance are rising in India, this promise has become one of the app’s biggest advantages. (Also Read: BSNL’s Intelligent Swadeshi 4G Network To Connect 26,700 Villages With High-Speed Internet) Zoho’s Instant Messaging App Arattai: Can It Really Knock Over WhatsApp? That’s the billion-dollar question. WhatsApp remains deeply entrenched in India, boasting over 500 million users in the country alone. For most people, it’s the default setting for chatting, calling, and even business transactions. Arattai’s rise to the top of app store charts shows strong curiosity, but turning downloads into long-term daily use is another battle entirely. However, the key limitation, and where WhatsApp has an advantage, is the end-to-end encryption.

India To Leverage AI In Financial Services To Boost Inclusive Growth | Technology News
New Delhi: India’s approach to adopting AI in financial services aligns with the broader goal of leveraging technology for inclusive economic development, and the country’s unique digital public infrastructure lays a foundation for AI integration, aiming to democratise financial access at an unprecedented scale, according to the Finance Ministry’s monthly review released on Friday. The RBI’s FREE-AI Framework is designed to foster innovation while ensuring robust risk management, highlighting that these two elements are complementary forces that should be pursued together. The framework also supports the India AI Mission, enhancing national AI capabilities, and aligns with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, ensuring consistency in data governance, the review states. Based on detailed surveys, the RBI found that AI adoption in Indian finance is still in its early stages, with only 21 per cent of surveyed banks and financial institutions implementing or developing AI solutions. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source Adoption is concentrated among larger banks, while smaller urban cooperative banks and many NBFCs face resource constraints, including inadequate data infrastructure, limited skilled talent, and insufficient IT budgets, which hinder AI deployment. Additionally, even among early adopters, the use of AI applications remains basic, often focused on improving process efficiency, customer interactions (like simple chatbots), lead generation, and internal decision support rather than engaging in complex autonomous decision-making. Guided by these principles, the RBI’s FREE AI outlines six strategic pillars for implementing its vision effectively. Under the Innovation Enablement Framework, the focus is on infrastructure, policy, and capacity building. This includes developing shared data and technology infrastructure to democratise AI access (for example, data lakes or plug-and-play ‘landing zones’ platforms that smaller firms can leverage), crafting agile policies and establishing regulatory sandboxes for safe and controlled experimentation, along with addressing the AI skill gap. The Risk Mitigation Framework focuses on governance, protection, and assurance to create transparent governance structures (like board oversight and ethics committees), implement robust protective measures for privacy and security, and mandate ongoing monitoring and validation of AI systems to ensure reliability, the review added.

This initiative draws inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally connected and self-reliant India. “We are proud that we have put India on the map of only a handful of countries to have developed a comprehensive, trusted and software upgradable telecom technology stack. The successful deployment at BSNL is historic and significant in ushering the benefits of a powerful data and voice network to all corners of the country,” said N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Advisor-Telecom Strategic Initiatives at TCS and Chairman, Tejas Networks. It once again reflects TCS’s commitment to building India’s digital infrastructure and continuously supporting the country’s digital aspirations, Subramaniam said.
