New Delhi: India’s electronics exports has exceeded $47 billion, or more than Rs 4.15 lakh crore, for the first time in 2025, according to official data.  As per official data, the electronics exports marked a 37 per cent rise — from $34.93 billion in the prior 12‑month period in 2024. Nearly two‑thirds of the total exports, at roughly $30 billion, came from smartphone shipments supported by the government’s production‑linked incentive (PLI) scheme, which also hit an all‑time high in 2025. Electronics exports reached $4.17 billion in December 2025, up 16.8 per cent from $3.58 billion in December 2024. Electronics exports exceeded the $4 billion mark in seven of the 12 months of 2025, underscoring sustained global demand for Indian‑made devices. The export figure of smartphones in 2025 represents about 38 per cent of the country’s smartphone exports over the past five years, according to a recent report. New Delhi: Over one lakh individuals have enrolled in India’s chip design training programmes, with around 67,000 already trained, the government said on Saturday.  The initiative, driven by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aims to make India self-reliant in chip design, a sector crucial for modern electronics, green energy, defence, and emerging technologies. “Over 1 lakh individuals have enrolled in chip design training, with approximately 67,000 trained so far,” the government said. The Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme, launched in 2022 with a total outlay of Rs 250 crore, is at the centre of this drive. The programme covers nearly 400 organisations, including 305 academic institutions and 95 startups, and seeks to train thousands of students, researchers, and engineers across India. Google Search Monopoly Case In US Court: In a major legal fight, Tech giant Google is trying to stop a court order that could change how online search works. The tech giant has asked a judge to delay sharing its data with rival companies, including ChatGPT-maker OpenAI. This comes after a ruling that said Google has an illegal monopoly in the search market, a decision the company is now challenging in court.  In a statement released on Friday, Sundar Pichai-led Google said the ruling by US District Judge Amit Mehta did not consider how fast technology is changing and how much competition the company faces. Google has asked the court to pause several corrective steps meant to reduce its monopoly power, saying some of these steps are unfair. In 2024, a US district judge in Washington ruled that Google used illegal methods to stay on top in online search. Google has now asked a higher court to overturn this decision. The company said the judge went too far by ordering Google to share its data with rivals, including ChatGPT-maker OpenAI.
