Google Issues Warning To 2.5 Billion Gmail Users After Major Data Breach Threat; Here’s How to Protect Your Account | Technology News
Google Emergency Earning Gmail Users: Google is urging billions of Gmail users to update their passwords and enhance account security after a major data breach triggered a surge in hacking attempts. The warning follows a cyber threat linked to a third-party data breach involving Salesforce. Users of Google services, including Gmail and Google Cloud, are particularly at risk, as the breach has opened new opportunities for hackers to exploit stolen information, putting millions of inboxes in danger. According to media reports, more than 2.5 billion Gmail users could face serious risks after cybercriminals compromised a Google database managed through Salesforce’s cloud platform. According to Google, attackers are actively using stolen login credentials to launch phishing and malware campaigns. Meanwhile, Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) revealed that hackers are leveraging data from the Salesforce-related breach to conduct sophisticated phishing and impersonation scams. Users are often redirected to fake login pages or tricked into sharing two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, giving hackers full access to their accounts. (Also Read: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025: Galaxy S25 FE And Galaxy Tab S11 To Launch On THIS Date; Check Expected Specs, Price) Add Zee News as a Preferred Source Adding further, scammers are impersonating Google employees through calls and text messages, urging users to reset passwords or provide login codes. Google has strongly advised users not to trust unsolicited communications claiming to be from the company and to remain vigilant against phishing attempts. How To Protect Your Gmail Account From Hackers Turn on 2-Step Verification Enable Google’s two-step verification to add an extra security layer. Even if someone gets your password, they’ll need a unique code sent to your phone or authenticator app. This makes it much harder for hackers to break in. Use a Strong Password Always create a strong password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid common words, your name, or birthdate. Using the same password across multiple accounts is risky—choose a unique one for Gmail to stay safe. Check Login Activity Regularly check Gmail’s “Last account activity” feature to see where and when your account was accessed. If you notice an unknown location or device, immediately secure your account by changing the password and removing suspicious logins. Watch Out for Fake Emails Phishing emails look real but are designed to steal your information. Be cautious about links, attachments, or messages asking for personal details. If you feel something is suspicious, don’t click it—verify first or delete it right away. Shipments Of ‘Made In India’ Smartphones Grew 15% In Q2, 32% Surge In Exports | Technology News
New Delhi: Shipments of ‘Made in India’ smartphones grew 15 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in the April–June quarter of 2025 (Q1 FY26), boosted by a 32 per cent surge in exports and an 8 per cent rise in domestic sell-in, a new report said on Friday. According to Counterpoint Research’s latest ‘Make in India Tracker’, Dixon Technologies emerged as the country’s largest smartphone manufacturer by shipments for the first time, recording an impressive 196 per cent annual growth. The company climbed from sixth place a year ago, supported by rising orders from Motorola, Transsion brands, Xiaomi and realme. Foxconn Hon Hai secured the second spot with 71 per cent growth, driven by strong iPhone exports. Bhagwati Products Limited (BPL), which produces devices for vivo and OPPO, entered the top five manufacturers for the first time and became the fastest-growing player, with production crossing 2 million units per month. Tata also reported steady gains, led by both domestic and export demand. Senior Research Analyst Prachir Singh said Indian EMS (electronics manufacturing services) players are now playing a bigger role as global and Chinese smartphone brands increasingly outsource production to them. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source “Going forward, we expect the EMS landscape to expand in India, with local manufacturers benefiting. The government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme and partnerships with global ODMs will be crucial for the growth of the electronics manufacturing supply chain,” he noted. This growth comes against the backdrop of India’s rapid rise as a global mobile manufacturing hub. As reported earlier in Parliament, mobile phone exports have jumped 127 times in the past decade — from just Rs 0.01 lakh crore in 2014-15 to Rs 2 lakh crore in 2024-25. Production has grown 28-fold during the same period, and the number of mobile manufacturing units has expanded from just two in 2014 to more than 300 in 2025. Thanks to flagship government schemes such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI), Electronics Manufacturing Clusters, and SPECS, India has transformed from a heavy importer of mobile phones to near self-reliance, while creating an estimated 25 lakh jobs across the electronics sector.
40% Of Enterprise Apps Will Feature Task-Specific AI Agents By 2026: Report | Technology News
New Delhi: As much as 40% of enterprise applications in the world will be integrated with task-specific AI agents by 2026, up from less than 5 per cent today, a report said on Friday. “As organisations accelerate digital transformation, agentic AI in enterprise applications will move beyond individual productivity, setting new standards for teamwork and workflow through smarter human-agent interactions,” Gartner Inc., a business and technology insights company, said in a report. According to Gartner, agentic AI will drive approximately 30 per cent of enterprise application software revenue by 2035, surpassing $450 billion, up from 2 per cent in 2025. “AI agents are evolving rapidly, progressing from basic assistants embedded in enterprise applications today to task-specific agents by 2026 and ultimately multi-agent ecosystems by 2029,” said Anushree Verma, Sr Director Analyst at Gartner. This shift transforms enterprise applications from tools supporting individual productivity into platforms enabling seamless autonomous collaboration and dynamic workflow orchestration, she added. According to the report, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) have a crucial three to six month window to define their agentic AI strategy, as the industry is at an inflexion point. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source “Organisations that do not embrace agentic AI promptly risk falling behind their peers. Managing strategic priorities requires a focussed approach across the five stages of agentic AI evolution,” the report stated. Gartner’s report predicts that by the end of 2025, almost every enterprise application will have embedded assistants, transforming inefficient Apps into intelligent systems that operate on users’ behalf. AI assistants are the precursor to agentic AI. They simplify tasks and interactions for users but depend on human input and do not operate independently. The most common misconception is referring to these AI assistants as agents, a misunderstanding fueled by widespread “agentwashing.” “CIOs and technology leaders must focus on creating seamless employee experiences by integrating AI assistants with robust APIs, enabling a shift from traditional application-centric interfaces,” said Verma. The report further predicted that by 2026, AI assistants will evolve into AI agents with task specialisation, a significant step towards true agentic capabilities. According to the report, by 2027, one-third of agentic AI implementations will combine agents with different skills to manage complex tasks within application and data environments and by 2028, AI agent ecosystems will enable networks of specialised agents to dynamically collaborate across multiple applications, allowing users to achieve goals without interacting with each application individually. “Meanwhile, by 2029, at least 50 per cent of knowledge workers will develop new skills to work with, govern and create AI agents on demand for complex tasks,” the report highlighted.
