New Delhi: India’s smartphone manufacturing industry on Sunday sought to play down concerns around a reported government proposal on source code sharing, saying the issue is part of a long-running consultation process and does not represent any new or immediate regulatory change. Reacting to a report that said the Centre is considering requiring smartphone makers to share source code and comply with a set of new security standards, the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) said discussions between the government and the industry have been going on for several years and should not be seen as a sudden policy shift. ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo said there is no new development that warrants alarm. He explained that it is normal for governments to engage with industry stakeholders on technical and compliance-related issues and for companies to respond by sharing global best practices and practical limitations. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source “We want to clarify two things. First, this is not a new issue. It’s a discussion that’s been ongoing for several years,” Mohindroo said. “Multiple discussions on this issue have occurred. There is no new development which warrants special attention,” he stated. He described the current engagement as a routine, transparent and detailed consultation process and said the industry is satisfied with the way discussions are progressing. Mohindroo added that there is no pressing concern at this stage and expressed confidence that a consensus will be reached on the best way forward. “It is completely normal for the government to engage industry in such discussions — ask technical and compliance questions and for the industry to respond with international practises and what might be possible or not,” he mentioned. The report said the government is proposing a set of 83 security standards under the Indian Telecom Security Assurance Requirements, which could include access to smartphone source code, mandatory malware scanning and prior intimation of major software updates to authorities. “This is a routine process of open transparent consultation. We are satisfied with the way the discussions are proceeding. There is no pressing concern as this is the very nature of transparent and in-depth consultation with specific stakeholders,” he mentioned.
Did You Know How Much Money You Earn For 1,000,000 Views On Instagram Reels? How To Earn More From Meta-Owned Platform: Check Eligibility And Tips | Technology News
Instagram Earnings From Views In India: Scrolling through Instagram, you’ve probably seen Reels with thousands, lakhs, or even millions of views on the Meta-owned platform. Some creators become popular overnight, while others slowly build a loyal audience. This creates curiosity in everyone’s mind: do these millions of views turn into money? And if yes, how much can someone actually earn from a single viral Reel? Many people believe that more views always mean more income, but the reality is not so simple. Behind every successful Reel, there is a different story, strategy, and source of earnings. To understand what truly happens behind these numbers on Instagram, let’s reveal the truth behind this curiosity. Does Instagram Pay For Views On Reels? Add Zee News as a Preferred Source In India, the story is a little different from what many people expect. Even if a Reel crosses the big milestone of 1,000,000 views on reels, money does not automatically land in your account. Instagram does not pay creators directly just for the number of views they get. Instead, earnings depend on how smartly a creator uses that popularity to generate income. While Instagram has bonus and Reels Play programs in a few countries, these opportunities are still limited and not available to all creators in India. Users Can Earn Through Brand Deals On Instagram For most Instagram creators, real earnings begin with brand deals and promotions. When a Reel starts getting around 1,000,000 views and the audience actively engages with the content, brands begin to take notice. They may approach creators to promote their products or services through posts or Reels. A small creator can usually earn between Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 for such promotions. However, this amount is not fixed. It depends on the creator’s niche, the quality of their audience, engagement levels, followers and the type of content they create. In this method, creators share product links in their Reels, Stories, or bio. When viewers click on the link and buy the product, the creator earns a small commission on each sale. Even though the amount per sale may seem small, it can grow over time. In some cases, this income can be more than brand deals, especially when the audience trusts the creator and is genuinely interested in the product. How To Earn More Money From Instagram Meta-owned platform Instagram offers a few main ways to earn money that depend on fan support rather than just views. These include Instagram Gifts, where viewers tip creators on Reels, Subscriptions that give fans access to exclusive content, and Badges that viewers can buy during live streams to support their favorite creators. To earn good and steady income from Instagram, focus on creating quality content. Pick one clear niche, talk to your audience regularly, and use popular formats. As your views grow and people start trusting you, brands will naturally reach out. With the right approach, even 10,000 views can be the first step toward earning from Instagram. Instagram Money On Views On Reels: Eligibility And Tips To access most earning tools on Instagram, creators usually need to switch to a Creator or Business account and have 10,000 or more followers. However, engagement matters more than follower count, so aim for an engagement rate of 2.5 percent or higher. Reels should be your main focus for growth. Post regularly, use trending formats, and keep your content fresh. To build long-term income, do not depend on just one source. Explore options like merchandise sales or brand partnerships to create steady and sustainable earnings.

Hackers can use the leaked data to carry out SIM‑swapping attacks, pose as Instagram support staff, or run targeted phishing scams. By using personal details from the leak, scammers can gain users’ trust and trick them into sharing login details or two‑factor authentication codes. The incident is called “scraping,” which means the data was taken from publicly visible parts of Instagram, not from a direct attack on the company’s servers. Meta Response A Meta spokesperson told Hindustan Times that there was no data breach. The company said it fixed a problem that allowed someone to send password reset emails to some Instagram users. Meta said no one got unauthorized access to accounts or their systems. Users who received these emails can ignore them, and all Instagram accounts are safe. How To Protect Your Instagram Account Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Activate 2FA in Instagram Settings > Security to require a code from an authenticator app or SMS alongside your password, blocking most unauthorized logins. Create a Strong, Unique Password: Use at least 12 characters mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols; avoid personal info or reuse—change it immediately if suspicious activity appears. Beware Phishing And Suspicious Links: Never click links in unsolicited DMs, emails, or comments claiming account issues; always verify directly in the app via Accounts Center. Review Login Activity Regularly: Check Settings > Security > Login Activity for unfamiliar devices or locations, log out remotely from unrecognized sessions, and update recovery email/phone. Lock Down Privacy Settings: Switch to private account, limit who can message/tag you, hide your online status, and run Security Checkup in Accounts Center for quick vulnerability fixes.
